Spellcasting and Enchanting.

Hello !
Is enchanting a viable profession for a pure spellcaster ? It seems its mostly good for +dmg , only one perk for +skills or magicka. Anyone tried this with success ? I dont want to invest in enchanting for nothing.

You're gonna get in fights where your manapool is about a third the size you need it to be.

Something has to fill the gap. Conjuration works, so do alchemy and enchanting.

Yes, enchanting will be a really great fallback for difficult encounters. Try it out.

Try both enchanting and alchemy. Enchant some clothes to + alchemy. Use alchemy to make + enchanting potions. Go back and forth and you can make very powerful sets of clothes.

yeah I am destro (ice) / alteration / alchemy / enchanting on my mage, and it's pretty great.

When I run out of magika I've got a fire sword + a staff of fireballs to fall back on. Mage armor + a potion of regeneration in melee range with a fire enchanted sword is pretty great. If there are still multiple enemies when my magika runs out, the staff comes out.

Don't go overboard figuring out how to exploit alchemy and enchanting together. It's got diminishing returns. You can: brew or find a +enchanting potion; use this and enchant gloves/jewelry with +alchemy; then use this stuff every time you're doing a brewfest. Someone suggests going farther than this, though - ie use the +alchemy gear the brew better +enchanting potions with which you enchant better +alchemy gear.

It's got diminishing returns, and ingredients/grand soul gems are scarce. I don't think I'd go that far.

Well , thanks for the feedback. I am only level 8 now but even now i can suffer from mana problems. Enchanted some of my gear for "+magicka recharge" selected "apprentice" as birthsign. But regen doesnt seem to work in combat. If thats the dase i think i'll just roll for a melee class and wait for magic to be fixed :(
