2 spells at once? : V

So I know how you can put the same spell in each hand and that you can combine them to make a more powerful spell. But when I put say fire in both hands a d pull each trigger(Xbox) but it dosent combine them? Help

They need to be the same spell in order to get more dmg. Plus check your school. If you got the perk in destruction, it won't work on e.g. alteration
