Pixel spiders wont scare me much if i see it in the distance but if i turn around and its there i will most likely [censored] myself lol

I myself am not trying to be rude to the OP and I understand phobias, especially of heights and enclosed places. But I am not so far gone about it that I can not go into a cave or scale a mountain on a video game. Believe me I grew up in a place where everything and it's mother is poisonus: Arizona and yes I hate spiders to some degree. I just can not understand how some people are putting their personal phobias in a fantasy game. Have people in this society really become this, I can't think of a nice word for it, but I'll let the post go there and end it now.

I'm in the same boat bro so I can sympathise. I should be able to deal with it as long as they dont do the whole Dragon Age "drop from the ceiling making a terrifying" noise thing too often.

Within the first hour I'd fought several spiders plus a large mini-boss spider.

oh god i dont like spiders either..i really dont like the big spindly legged ones..makes my skin crawl..i dont mind the fuzzy ones though..

I will kill every spider I come across.Big ones in games do not bother me,but the smaller ones in real life I'd rather nuke them from orbit just to be sure. The ones you run into in the game kill with fire.The flame animation might hide the spider.

Okay mate, I really don't want this to evolve into a flamewar, and I am really trying to keep my manners. But really, this is NOT about "putting personal phobias into fantasy games", and I can assure you that this is not a symptom of our society degenerating. The climate, animal/humanitarian ethics and physical/economic repression is symptoms of a degenerating society. I can not understand how some people can piss their pots about someone else having (as it has been emphasised) clinically irrational fears. And if anything, the fact is that you consider THAT a problem, as opposed to all kinds of other [censored], that is a sign of a degenerating society.

Please, I do not mind discussing personal details, but you people must stop acting as if your experience with the world covers everyone. It's not a big deal, it's just a game that I'd like to enjoy, and I'm looking for ways to enjoy it as much as possible. So stop making a big deal of it.

That's because you're afraid of spiders. That is not irrational, they are poisonous and deadly in some cases.

A phobia is NOT rational or controllable. You cannot rationalize "how you can be afraid of..." to someone with a phobia, it's not a choice. It is an irrational aversion to something that does not necessarily make any sense to you.

And yes I am arachnophobic. If they are realistic enough, I will not be able to play the game pretty much. Or I'd have to bring up the console the moment I see one and use the kill command so that I don't have to interract with it at least. In Oblivion I played with FCOM and it had an optional mod "No Spiders", only reason I was able to play it, hope something like that gets made quick for Skyrim

Spiders are pretty much a large part of the game im sorry to say have encountered them several times

ok now listen to me ok basically they usually pop up in dungeons woodlsnds or mountains they can spawn anywere really but im sorry i cant tell you exactly but i doubt there at all rare oh and theres multiple types

@OP you do realize that theirs a dragon shout where you incase that nasty Arachnid in ice and smash him right, that would serve your fear of spiders a nice can of whoop ass.
