E-Sport?

Post » Sat Apr 13, 2013 9:25 am

I'm really hoping TESO has a good enough PvP system to become an e-sport. I would like to see arena style PvP from WoW, because arenas in WoW were always amazing.

Anyone know of any articles where the PvP of TESO is discussed? I don't know much about the PvP besides the Cyrodill PvP.

Fortunately Tamriel Foundry has rounded up quite a bit of information in regards to PvP in ESO. You can check it out here: http://tamrielfoundry.com/development-faq/ under the PvP section.

No structured or instanced PvP at launch.....my hopes for this game have just been shattered :-(

If the alliance war in Cyrodill is anything like WvW in GW2 (which it likely will be considering they are freakishly similar) then it will end up being just a huge zerg-fest where numbers matter more than skill. No skill based PvP at launch is a sad sad thing to hear indeed :(

Arenas... Thank all the gods that have been and will be that there isn't such a thing in ESO. While I do lament zerg fest pvp, I recall WoW style arenas and that wasn't so much skill based as was FotM class based.

And how I rejoice over this. I think you're overeacting over the pvp, we have no reason to assume it will be a zergfest.

If anything this pvp will be skill-based, compared to most MMOs.

Sorry to tell you but at launch wont be esport at all if they get a 3vs3 4vs4 5vs5 arena yes it can become esport rvr no it cannot impossible.

Why? ive played esport since 14 years old know how the industry works, show Products, sponsors, advertising, team pays for trips to event, are they gonna pay 20-40 players for a hotell and a trip nope impossible :)

there is a reason why more than 5vs5 games never become esport games, reason is no one wanna sponsor them, reason why wow worked was becuse of wow arena and huge inflation in wow players to view World first wich become a big fat show for sponsors.

but they could just send a few to events,

But online events you might say, well that could work, but tbh rvr aint skillful at all, its tactical to a digree yes but not skillful to a degree of counter-strike,sc2,lol,dota,quake.

However as i mentioned arena would profit eso a lot in exposure if they get it in, also im pretty sure that pvp in eso will be 10 times more skillful in pvp than wow especially.

Becuse its how you play that will make you win, in wow it was your setup and nailing your rotations properly and scanning their cooldowns and their burst.

In this so many possbilities but also i Think no arena at launc is a good thing becuse arena Before players have learned the system for pvp spells talents and such.

It would just be a randomwin fest(well not 100% but to some degree :D )

They said the same thing about GW2 WvW. Hell it was the same in DAOC too. More numbers is going to beat out skill every time in this type of PvP scenario, totally takes away skill from the equation. Lets hope that PvP is enabled in public dungeons at least.

TESO's pvp is too superior for E-SPORT
No.
You can only put in small scale - arene style pvp's into esport, Teso is going to have big scaled massive battleground. This aint e-sport style

Hate to burst your bubble but an 8man group can easily destroy a zerg. I've done it in GW2, and I did it constantly in DAoC.

Of course there will be zergs, there is no doubt about that, but don't ever think a small organized group can't beat a zerg. There no is power in numbers.

This was also bad news to me... I am hopeful that a Oblivion style Arena PvP is released in an expansion eventually.
