Aparently he entered a strip for exiting planes by mistake and skimmed the top of it. He reportedly asked was the 747 supposed to be under him.

Yeah I heard about that according to the news Ford doesn't have the best piloting track record, so to anyone having having dreams about how cool it would be to fly with Solo you might want to put that as the last thing you do on your bucket list.

I've just been watching a Making of AOTC doc that I found on YouTube, and at one point Amidala says this line:

"You're training to be a Jedi. I'm...I'm a senator."

It just hit me, Romeo and Juliet??? Don't say it's true that Lucas was so deluded that he was actually "trying" to emulate Shakespeare with his PT?

Wouldn't be the first time he lifted from other established works.

Mmm, I'm thinking the Romeo+Juliet comparison wasn't what that comment was about. I'm thinking it was more along the lines of it being hard to keep under wraps and the scandal it could cause (more so for Anakin) if word got out. The Jedi and Galactic Senators are hardly the Capulets and the Montagues.

Just like the Death Star trench is hardly the canyon in 633 Squadron...But still, copying an old WWII movie is worlds away from thinking you can hijack Shakespeare and make it sound good!

I don't see the similarity between the off hand comment Padme made and Romeo & Juliet. I guess we are interpreting it differently.

I can say this for sure if Romeo stated he favors a dictatorship and admits to killing innocent people including women and younglings I'd bet Juliet would have ran in the opposite direction all while calling Romeo a maniac.

He's not adapting all of Romeo and Juliet, just bits and pieces to suit his script. A bit taken from here, a bit taken from there and he had a mongrel script. That part of the movie was intended to be a parallel of Romeo and Juliet, forbidden love between two people from two different disagreeing factions. Trouble is, Lucas hasn't got the abilities to pull it off. When he does it it just comes off a cheese.

Yep, I saw it on nbc. He flew right over the 747 trying to make a landing. I tried looking it up on youtube. But alas I couldn't find anything.

So apparently in the upcoming Aftermath novel JarJar's fate is revealed.

Spoiler
He goes into a sort of exile and literally becomes a street performing clown. He has deep regret for his significant roll in the Empires rise to power.

Lol, I never understood why they gave Jar Jar that kind of responsibility. He was such a clutz. This fate seems appropriate.

The mystery of The Last Jedi being singular or plural has finally been solved.

Spoiler
It's plural. This has been revealed to us by the release of the title in other countries. In France, Star Wars: The Last Jedi translates to Star Wars: Les Derniers Jedi. In Spain, it's Los últimos Jedi. Geremany has Die Letzten Jedi. And in Portugues, they have Os últimos Jedi. All of these when translated indicate it is a plural usage. The rabbit hole has just deepened.
