One thing I don't understand about the prequel movies are their fans. Seriously I don't understand that group. I can't grasp the idea of liking the new trilogy. When the rumors where spread about the new trilogy I was a very happy person. I could not wait to see them. And after I did. I was crushed. For me and many people in the audience (my age mostly) this was a long torture and finally murder of Star Wars as we knew it. I hated that movie, but then I saw the rest. And every time I was equally dissapointed and enraged about it. The "changes" to the original trilogy were even harder for me to grasp. But I made my peace years ago and didn't look back.

But the thing what is really bothering me is: How the hell that movies have fans today. This is not a hate topic or an argument "why everyone who likes the prequels have no taste" or anything like this. I just want to know why this is the case. What is the reasoning for liking this. This hitted me when I heard about disney ownership of Lucasarts and the outcry of fans. I thought to myself: "How disney can ruin Star Wars? Star Wars was ruined by Lucas years ago. It can only be better now."

Is it nostalgia of childhood? Is it something that the new generation can rely on? Seriously I need to know.

Disney will not ruin star wars. Lets think about it for a second.

Marvel was bought by Disney, before this acquisition Marvel's films where a resounding "Meh" at best, post-disney acquisition the Marvel films that have been coming out have been some of the best, iron man, Thor, Avengers to name a few. Though I haven't seen the Amazing spiderman yet so I can't tally it against the others.

Besides, the best Star Wars movie (empire strikes back) wasn't even directed by George Lucas, so if he's off the project I can only see a great future for the franchise.
