Starwars Battlefront 3

http://www.vg247.com/2012/02/07/more-battlefront-3-development-rumors-surface-thanks-to-spark-unlimited-job-listing-and-resumes/
“unannounced third person sword fighting game (well known IP, Xbox 360, PS3)”, and another from a senior AI programmer who cited work on a “AAA third person shooter using Unreal Engine and Kynapse AI middleware.”

Seems likes it is in the works....still.

Spark has pretty much stayed mum on the title in the works at the studio, https://twitter.com/#!/sparkunlimited/status/165691128417497088it was “working on a sequel for a well known sci-fi franchise,” and because of this, “all aspects must remain secret.”
“You want word on SWBF3, you should contact Lucasarts,” said another tweet. “I know I can speak more when the publisher speaks more.”

What do you guys expect consolized trash or a true sequel?

I would totally buy this. Didn't had a chance to play any of the former two online... It must have been awesome.

I am not going to hold my breath. If it is true, im curious to see what they will do to it now. hope it goes back to BF1 spawn style.
I liked going as a dark trooper and quickly capturing command posts.

If they make it like a Star Wars theme for a Battlefield game, it'll be great. If not, it wont be.

Something I definitely don't want is more of the same FPS we see everyday. A true Battlefront game would be great :) Jedi's are kind of OP, although being great fun!

Battlefront is a great game....

Not as serious or nearly as high skill capped as military FPS games, but LOTS of fun.

The space battles were EPIC... I loved dog fighting tie fighters around the carriers, then crash landing in the dock, killing a couple pilots on the way to their craft, running in, planting a bomb, and defending it.

just SOOO awesome.

I played the hell of out Battlefront, but never got around to much Battlefront 2. Still, I'd be more than happy to pick up another Battlefront game.

Yes, I have, and I thought they could have been much better than they were.

The Space battles would be awesome, I always loved destroying the parts of the ships, and the frigates while flying super close to the surface of the ship.

It's true, it's got to be. All signs are pointing to it being Battlefront 3.

Why?

Well this caught my eye. “AAA third person shooter using Unreal Engine and Kynapse AI middleware.” Seems innocent enough, and could be anything... Except... http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/26/lucasarts-licenses-unreal-engine-3-for-long-term-multi-project/

Connected with this: "Spark is currently looking for a 'senior combat designer for a 3rd Person Action/Adventure sequel in a high-profile science fiction franchise currently greenlit for full production development for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC markets.'"

What other franchise could it be? The only two high-profile sci-fi franchises I can think of are Star Wars and Star Trek. Star Trek doesn't seem likely, so it means it's more than likely Star Wars related. It can't be a sequel to Republic Commando, since it's a 3rd person action/adventure game.

Two options other than Battlefront would be a sequel to the Jedi Knight series, or a sequel to The Force Unleashed. The most likely choices would be either Battlefront 3, or The Force Unleashed 3.

So there you have it. This news has officially made my day. :)

Battlefront was [censored] awesome, and so was Battlefront II.

I played the hell out of those games when I was a kid, and I would gladly buy Battlefront 3 as long as they stick to the basic style of the first two games. This is the best news I've heard all week, I just hope that it is Battlefront 3 they are working on.

I should also point out that Spark Tweeted this:
"Publisher hasn't stated when or where the announcement will take place," reads one. "The time and place could be close or far, far away."

How is that NOT telling the gaming community that you're making a Star Wars game??

They could be trolling us, just cause they laugh at the pain of us consumers.

I remember accidently finding a glitch on Battlefront 2 during the space battles.

I was flying through the oxygen field from our space station and parked halfway, got out and my guy was on the outside of the ship, alive.

I remember doing that too, worked best with a star destoryer since it had that bit of flat piece under the ship. But it svcks when the ship would spontaneously explode.

BF2 was better in some ways, but worse in others. Overall I liked BF1 more.
I was glad hero's could be killed in BF2 though. I remember in BF1 desperately trying to knock hero's of the map, or into the carbonite chamber.
Also loved it when you have very few troops left, but they are all in your ship. Nothing annoyed e more, than getting a close score, only to have a random guy on your team die.

I am pretty excited for this. Trying to keep my expectations in check, but I'd honestly be pretty happy even if it was just a high resolution refresh of Battlefront 2.

This. I just looked up some more info. about Spark Unlimited. They've only made three games (Call of Duty: Finest Hour, Turning Fall of Liberty, and Legendary).
