My 'ritual' basically includes a session of exercise and inspection of my food & drink storage before I boot up the game.

My ritual is always the same:

- Get off bed and shower
- Boot rig
- Fire up game
- Play game
- Get up when I need to pee/dump/drink/eat
- Don't forget it's just a game and if I keep the good habits like drinking and eating and sleeping i'll be able to play games for many years.

Less serious ritual:

- Put on a diaper directly connected with a tube to a barrel in the basemant
- Lots of alcohol and cold hotdogs
- Plug in my USB 3.0 Arm Feeder in the rig so I don't have to use my hands to eat/drink
- Play game till I see the movie of my life before my eyes

Pretty funny. My wife and I are actually going to discuss our Skyrim plans this evening. Probably make sure the wine rack/beer fridge is full for the weekend, and keep grub to simple stuff that goes good with said beverages. Proceed to nerd out. Should be good times

I don't think I have a particular ritual, other than tying down the wife with the new-bought chain so she doesn't run off with the pool guy. Other than that I suppose it's important to have food and drinks in close range so I don't have to waste time acquiring it.

Why would anyone want to be even a little bit drunk when playing it? I would understand if you smoked some but getting drunk and playing the most epic game ever made for the first time makes no sense at all.
This will be one of few beer free Fridays for me.

On topic: Huge pizza, lots of non-alcohol beverages of some kind.

Not drunk, just relaxed for me. I'll be sitting down with a large scotch and a big bowl of dry roasted peanuts. I might also grab a sword for ambiance...

Not sure what the big deal is. :shrug:

(And I agree with the guy wondering why you'd want to do anything to alter your perception - alch, drugs, sleep deprivation, whatever - and ruin the experience. But, then, I wonder why you'd want to do that ever, so maybe I'm the wrong person to ask. :tongue:

Make sure all domestic duties are fulfilled. Take a nice hot shower so I'm relaxed. Dawn my comfy fleece-wear fresh from the dryer. It will be 5-6am when I get up so I'll have a piping hot cup of espresso then hunker down for a serious RPG greek-gasm.
