The worst part of all of this is some people think this package is COMPLETE. Playable. All those problems you personally have with the game? You're not allowed to have them, and they're to never be fixed!
Bethesda/Id, have made absolutely no comment regarding the console patches. Even when they had given very broad twitter posts regarding a patch late October, it still wasn't clear which versions they were talking about until a picture was casually shown of the steam version. Now that patch released almost a full month later after some lengthy QA, and it addressed everything. By everything, I mean issues both pc and http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1417524-doom-3-bfg-edition-xbox-360-version-needs-a-patch/page__view__findpost__p__21684811. So basically they know how screwed the console releases are, but as far as we're concerned, they haven't done anything to actually work on the console patches.
Now then, given the amount of time it took for PC BFG owners to get their patch, and how long its been since then, how long do you think it will be before PS3/360 owners receive theirs? Lets also factor in QA for entirely different consoles, cost, and certification progress to add to the time.
The answer: Too long and hard to bother. By the time it happens, BFG will be bargain bin price, as its becoming now.
There are many more reasons contributing to a patch never arriving for this port on consoles this late in the cycle, like future projects and DLC to focus on instead, or just how close the next generation is getting, but that’s one appearent reason. Id either waited too long or never intended to release one to begin with, and rushed it out for October release. With "fans" claiming there’s nothing wrong with the release and hating on honest criticism, which stance would be economically feasible for Id/Beth to side with?
Either way, everybody got duped.
