Stealth vs Chaos

Post » Sun Oct 21, 2012 7:51 am

So I just started the game yesterday and I am wondering (at least in my own game playing) why its so hard to play under stealth, its so mush easier for me just to kill everyone but in trying to change up my strategy I would rather not kill on contact. Is there a difference in how the overall gameplay (not just the ending) works if you play stealth vs chaos?

Well for one thing, this is a stealth game, so even if you want to kill everyone you're supposed to be doing it stealthy. Stealth is hard because if it was easy it would be boring.

As for your main question. Playing chaotically increases the amount of rats in every map, more guards patrolling, more weepers, and changes dialog and the attitudes of various characters throughout the game. Overall the world gets darker and crueler.

Spoiler
Yes, killing everyone is easier.... but the game will react in adjusting the game accordingly, changing the city
slowly into a much darker, hopeless place, making future missions harder and, ultimately, if you end the game in high
chaos, the ending will also be affected. Ultimately, how you play is up to you, but just be prepared that you might not
like the world and character you end up having in the end.

Stealth takes some getting used to, but is very rewarding once you get the hang of it. Invest in powers that maximize
stealth approaches early, such as Blink 2, Agility, Dark Vision, Possession. Always carry plenty of sleep darts around.
Take high ground so you'll have a better view of the area and patrols.

High and low chaos effect the world in so many ways besides the endings. Of course, you have to play through more than once to realize this.
