Steam frustrations!

Post » Fri Sep 21, 2012 12:36 pm

I spent $60 on Skyrim. I have the freaking DVD! Why must I have an internet connection to play this game? Is there a way to play without Steam? Not only that, but the DVD contains 5 GB of game install data. Why in God's name is Steam now downloading 5 GB of game install information via my internet connection to install the game? IT IS ALL ON THE DVD!!

Sorry for the rant, but this is insane. Am I missing something? Is it possible to install the game directly off of the DVD without downloading the contents of the DVD from the internet? Can I possibly play without an internet connection? This isn't A MMORPG. I MUST be missing something!

You may join in our Steam DRM discussion http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1382539-unofficial-steamdrm-discussion-28/page__st__180

BTW, you must connect to the internet at least once as it's the DRM for the game. After that you can play offline.
