Steam Guru's - Help!

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 2:37 am

So just wanted your thoughts on the following:

I originally pre-ordered Skyrim on Steam - however a few days ago I changed my mind, ordered a physical copy and emailed Steam to ask for a refund (I know Steam will refund this per their refund policy on pre-orders)

So here is my problem - my physical copy has turned up and I'll be able to play in about 8 hours however my pre-ordered version is still sitting in my library (haven't downloaded it) so my question is - will this cause an issue when I try and install my physical copy with my pre-ordered version still sitting there??

Anyone else very experience this?

Any help is much appreciated :-)

You probably won't have any problems. I had started pre-loading MW3 (YES, I KNOW) yesterday, but a friend of mine had a physical copy so I put the disc in instead to see if I could skip the download process, and it worked.

It should be the same thing, since they're both Steamworks titles. If so, it should just give you a reinstall option and you'll be good to go.
