steam just force updated 1.07 on my system

So what is the deal with steam? I keep setting it to "never download" unless I aks it to yet evey time there is a change it forces an update when I try to load the game. I do not want 1.07. There were very few fixes that it had on PC and most of the ones it fixed were taken care of by mods.

So is there really a way to keep steam from updating a game or not?

Sorry, no. The option to prevent Steam from updating games is not 100% reliable and is not limited to Skyrim. To complain about this, I would suggest going to the Steam forums, as this is not something Bethesda has control over.

To take precautions against this, you should make a backup of your game folder whenever a new beta becomes available. When that beta goes live, there is a good chance your game will be updated without your consent. And don't ask for copies of game files from previous versions, as that will only provoke the zealotry of the moderators and get your thread locked.

There isn't an option to never download patches. It is "do not AUTOMATICALLY update the game". It will update when the game is started instead of downloading the patch when it is first pushed.

To prevent a game from updating, run it only from Offline Mode.

Set Steam offline.

Yea I tried that. I was unable to open the game w/o a CTD.
First and last Beth title. First and last steam title. I seriously dislike both companies at this point. If I say do not download something I mean it.
