Steam popups ruining my experience

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 2:40 am

Anyone know how to stop steam from popping up those stupid updates? They minimize my Skryim game and forces it to crash. Fricken annoying.

Steam updates? It won't update while you are playing the game.

If you're on pc like I think, just forget Steam and the skyrim launcher and run the TESV.exe directly. No need for Steam to be involved at all-- it's just needed the once for verification.

(oh, and check in with it once in awhile for patches)

You can turn steam off a.d play the game by putting a shortcut on your desktop and/or going to C:ProgramFiles/Steam/steamapps/common/skyrim. (I'm going off of memory but it should be something close to that.) You can execute the launcher or just the game from the two executables in there.

Thanks, I was having a difficult time finding that for some reason. Not used to steam. It is in the settings and interface options.

Wow, I'd assume that a lot of you are so bust spewing hate about steam that you failed to uncover the fact that you CAN run this game without steam. Just run the application straight out of the folder.
