So Steam wont work

Post » Mon Oct 15, 2012 9:24 am

Everytime I try to start Skyrim this (when the window pops up and it says play Skyrim) happens:

Steam.exe (main exception): CMultiFieldBlob(pSerialized): Bad field - extends past end of blob

How do I fix this?

This is really something for the Steam forums, to be honest.

In any case, try refreshing ClientRegistry.blob

Try browsing the Steam forum for a fix.

Shut down Steam, navigate to its directory, and do one of three things: move ClientRegistry.blob somewhere outside of the Steam directory tree, rename it to something like ClientRegistry.blob.old, or delete it. Once you do that, you can start Steam up again and it should regenerate it. If the problem persists, the Steam forums are really your best option as it sounds like a Steam issue and not a Skyrim issue.
