Stephen King's Dark Tower

Stephen King is a very unpredictable writer, some of his work is absolutely brilliant while the rest is so bad it's almost painful to read.

I even like King's bad stuff. His writing style is just very easy to read.

Absolutely loved the first book. It read like a post-apocalyptic Sergio Leone inspired [censored]kicker. With Magicks.

Wizard and Glass was excellent.

Read up until Song of Susannah with *that* character introduction.

Put it down.

Never read a King book since.

Heh, I think I'm the only person on the face of the earth that enjoyed that part. :P

I tried! I really did..

Up until that point I was truly, madly, deeply absorbed in the series.

*Apologies, Rohugh. I thought I was censoring that term myself!*

I've finished Dance with Dragons, I need a new series to immerse myself in. Is this any good? I've read a lot of Stephen King and love his writing. Is it high fantasy? I'm not a huge fan of that.

I didn't like #6 or #7. I only finished the series because I waited so long between books. I think I started reading the series back in '90 or '91. Haven't read a Stephen King book since then. Doubt I will get this one.

Me and everyone I know in real life loved that part too, and the ending of the sixth book blew me away.

I read the first book of the series in a day or two, and was very bored by it. I can't really get into Stephen King books. I'm not saying he's a bad author, it just isn't my thing.
