Stereotype nord help please........

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 11:05 am

Well it's came to the point where I feel I want to start a new character for the my civil war play through, as my 'cat' doesn't seem to fit in with getting involved.

I can't make up my mind, I want to play a stereotypical nord, but this is where I'm stuck. Really I don't want to be a hero, dragonborn and all that, I want to join ulfric with the mind set of a simple solider severing under his banner.

So if I was to do this what I'm I to follow?

Morals?
Mindsets?
Tactics?
Armour/equipment?
Potions/food?
Roleplaying tips?
Racist?
And if there's anything you think I should add.

I'm going for a full roleplay off this character so ill be doing the dead is dead, eating, sleeping and other stuff.

Points to consider though, my days off from patrolling the wilderness for imperial legionnaires what should I do?
Have a job at the mill in riverwood?
Go drink mean in the evenings in the tavern?
Become a part time black smith?

I just need more ideas.

Thanks guys sorry if this is hard to read but if you have any questions please reply and ill see if I can clear it up.

Look for a wife or spend the gold you earned touring skyrim cities via carriage.

You could also try the quest where you help Thorald escape the Thalmor. After all, his family are Stormcloak supporters.

Well if you want to join the stormcloacks and fit in there my suggestions would be:

1. Find amulet of Talos, and wear it. Even if not using shouts, it still shows faith.
2. Occasionaly pray at the Alter of Talos, other gods are allowed but Talos always goes first
3. Avoid any Imperial cities, Whiterun is acceptable because it's independant but don't go to Markarth, Falkreath, Morthal and Solitude before the war is over or they have been conquered
4. If you come across imperial patrols you kill them
5. doubly so for Thalmor patrols, you can proclaim your love for Talos first though if it's the bounty you are worried about.
6. Stay away from magic, this means enchanting and all kinds of spells. Alchemy is allowed, because everybody uses that up to a point.
7. Smithing is a very viable option, but stay away from Daedric stuff. Daedra equal magic and Nords distrust magic and Daedra in general.
8. Join the Companions, there is no higher honor for most Nords
9. I would say do the MQ, you are fighting Alduin and dragons... You can follow in the footsteps of Ysgramor and Tiber Septim themselves, what could be more glorious then that.
10. Accept any and all fistfights, you are a Nord after all.
11. Stay away from any and all Daedric quests, even "good" Daedra are still Daedra and Nords don't like the Daedra

Further, stay away from the Thieves Guild and the College of Winterhold they are not for you. Join the stormcloacks as soon as possible, possibly before joining the companions. Any quest that can be done against the Thalmor should be done, any quest for them should be completely ignored.

Spoiler
If you do the MQ and you get into the embassy, kill the Thalmor as much as you can. Paarth should die, the Blades are probably more important towards most Nords considering their history of fighting the Altmer and protecting the Septim family line

I wouldn't really make your char racists if I were you, it makes things to difficult, and very few stormcloacks are actually racists but as so many NPC's say "Skyrim belongs to the Nords" so Nords should go first.

As for tactics, either two handed-swords/axes or one handed swords with shields. Those should be your primary weapons. Don't use warhammers, those are for milkdrinkers, don't use maces either, again milkdrinkers. Stealth is out of the question, you are a Nord you go in proud announce yourself and then kill all those that oppose you or die trying. Definitely wear Heavy Armor, but try to stay away from Orcish and elvish stuff meaning go straight from Steel to Dragon... Ignore Orcish and Dwemer.

If you want a side job, then go ahead and have fun. But I see no reason for it, you are a warrior! Act as one, let those that stay behind take care of such low tasks, you are there to kill Imperials and Elves nothing more.

What morals should I consider?
Let bandits stand up again before killling them. Send tehm to Sovengard on their feet.
High elves are scum.
Magic is evil.
Marry a Nord and only a nord. Preferably a tavern wench or ownere with access to mead.
No lycanthropy at least not permanently. You are not going to doggy heaven, Sovengard awaits.
No betrayl.

I didn't want to start a new topic, cuz I have a similar request. I want to start a new save, with a Khajiit. A young khajiit who fell in love with the nature of Skyrim. I want it to be a hunter, living in The Rift, and same as Jixui here (exept not a nord) I want the same kindof help. I don't want to join the war (because thats not really a Khajiit's business), I wish not to do the main quest, nor the guild or brotherhood quests. So... Yes, I still want it to be a Khajiit (some stealing, skooma this and that, you know). Would be great if someone could help me too :)

Then just stick around and do nothing, if you don't want to join guilds then the primary reason for a Khajiit to be in Skyrim would be to make money and steal things. You could learn combat, magic or thievery (really Khajiit are quite capable of all three) but if you don't want to then your purpose is going to be limited to self fufilment. I can tell you however that Azura is quite important for Khajiit so doing her quest, or visiting her shrine would probably for most Khajiit be considered something important. Most other Daedra are not really that appreciated by the Khajiit. Lorkhan/Shor is holy though (you can see him by watching the moons) and Elswyer or the two kingdoms that now exist in her stead is loyal to the Thalmor. How an individual Khajiit would feel about that is completely up to you.

Besides that Khajiit are perfectly capable of fitting in everywhere and nowhere
