Hey all, I've finally got my house built up, so now I want to hire a steward, but I was curious about a few things, which I will present in list form for ease.

1. Is steward selection permanent, or can I hire one and then change my mind?

2. Are all stewards pretty much equal or are some more suited for certain areas (I'm at Lakeview btw)

3. Can any follower be a steward?

4. Who would you recommend as a steward?

Sorry for the questionnaire format there, but I couldn't think of a nice way to string that into a cohesive paragraph

Personally, if any follower can be a steward, I'm leaning towards Jzargo (spelling?). I think having a magical cat man as my steward would be freakin' amazing. Please don't crush my dreams by telling me he can't be my steward

1. I'm not sure but I believe you may have to kill them to replace them.

2. That depends on how the stewards fight, for example Illia is a mage so she has a range advantage and can hit enemies quicker than that of a warrior who will have to run around chasing after them.

3. I looked myself, not all can, some are bugged. I suggest you Google (Stewards Hearthfire lists) and have a look at different pages, they should have some useful info.

4. To get maximum security I suggest you pick someone other than the dlc housecarl, that way you can have more people at the house. For example my set up for my first house which so happens to be where my family is located -

Location - Heljarchen Hall
Steward - Illia (mage)
Housecarl - Gregor (warrior)
Wife - Mjoll (warrior)

I suggest getting a mixture of different fighters, I think the unofficial elder scrolls wiki has a list of followers and tells you which ones can become stewards.
