Still haven't finished Oblivion or Fallout 3

I kind of gave up on Oblivion after a while. Fallout 3 i still play but haven't finished. It's true though, these games are so massive you can basically spend an entire gen playing them and never finish them.

The way I see it though, what do I want to invest my time in? Oblivion came out early this gen. It was awe inspiring as far as scope but also had some glaring flaws. It's kind of like GTA IV. GTA 5 is coming and I don't know where to spend my time.

I play these games for a bit. Put them down. Come back and play some more and these games are probably the only ones that have lasted me this entire gen that were really worth buying. Civ Rev also has lasted funny enough.

It seems to me like Skyrim has taken what Oblivion did and really now perfected it. It's like we are guinea pigs. It took an entire gen. Is it really worth it though?? fallout 3 is a good in between. I still play and havent finished. I'd feel bad if i just don't finish these gams now which i think would be the case if i start playing skyrim.

The game is out though and its hard to hold off why waste time with these older games at this point?

any advice? The game store opens in an hour. I'm really thinking of picking this up. I think if I do Oblivion and FAllout 3 are never getting finished though. It's basically Skyrim until next gen starts. Ill pick up GTA 5. That's basically all i need.

Am I right in thinking this game is basically a perfected end of gen Oblivion?

The main quests in Morrowind and in Oblivion were not that great. The whole point of these games is the sidequests and the sandbox world. Hope the main quest is better in Skyrim but I dont care. So far this is a great game. I havent gotten very far but I like it.

yeah i love fallout and oblivion. These are my types of games. I just kind of play them as i can and dont rush is all. I go back and forth with GTA to change things up sometimes. Maybe play an rts or a quick campaign game like Uncharted or something... nba 2k i play.

But as far as games i buy and really invest time in it's these.

I just feel like Fallout 3 and Oblivion are never being touched again is all if i buy this and never get finshed. I feel ilke i wasted my time.

I know how you feel, I have much unresolved business in both Fallout 3 and New Vegas. But what with all the buzz around Skyrim I felt I had to get it. And its great, runs flawlessly on the PS3 so far, and is very beautiful. Just walking around the Skyrim countryside is enjoyable, though I much prefer to have exploration attached to a quest, rather than for its own sake. I'm pining for a Chinese assault rifle though, all these swords and sorcery is taking some getting used to.

But if you want to play Skyrim, then go for it. You will almost certainly love it, and you can always switch between games.:)
