Still in the Dark.

:cryvaultboy: I'm not sure how, but I've gotten to the part where I partitioned 3 computers for Ibsen.
He still hasn't thanked me or anything for doing it and I can't find anymore computers with the virus in it.

Have you actually locked down the virus? You'll know when you do.

If you haven't locked it down i'll give you a little tip which made my life 10x easier

save just after Ibsen says go then find the virus it'll keep the virus on the same three terminals iirc

Oh c'mon. It's a very easy quest. Done it the first time.

1. Pass the Science check. Tell him you want to try.
2. Go from computer to computer until you can partition the virus. Catch at least one.
3. Tell him you want to try again. Catch another piece (you have just enough time to get one per turn).
4. Go again and again until you find three.
5. Quest done.

You don't even need this part if you want to side with the Elder which I think is a much better choice mainly based on the haircut of Hardin's.

Just freaking read the instructions.

As this is the cheat section I'll mention the fun I had with this task.

I used the science perk and eventually, after spending over an hour I found and isolated all three of the terminals only to find that the game did not recognize it.
Ibsen kept on asking me if I wanted to try to isolate the virus.

I finally got fed up and came here to see if others had the same problem and the answer is yes, many are. One post mentioned that after finding one terminal and partitioning it he partitioned the same terminal again and it seemed to catch two of the virus.

With this in mind I restarted the mini quest from a previously saved game and started playing it again.
When Ibsen said the virus jumped I started opening each terminal and clicking on the data line. When I found a terminal with the virus I clicked on the partition line and let the winking line at the lower part of the screen go out.
Without closing the screen I selected the partition line and let the screen finish its winking line. I then clicked partition again and let it finish its winking at the bottom of the screen.
When I closed the terminal ol' Ibsen started yelling that I had fixed the problem. :)

Also, it seems old Ibsen gives you more time to find the problem if you don't use your science skill and just ask how you can help.
