Stones of Barenziah - Community List

Post » Mon May 21, 2012 12:45 am

Current Status: 4/24 Confirmed.

For those who don't know what the Stones of Barenziah are - upon your travels, you might happen upon a small, floating purple gem, above a jewelry case. This will be called an "Unusual Gem". You then get a quest to get it appraised. To do so, you must take it to the Thieves Guild, in Riften, and ask Vex to have a look at it. She'll then state that it's a Stone of Barenziah, of which there are 24 in total - and guess what, it's your lucky day... You get a quest to travel the whole of Skyrim, searching for tiny gems!

So, given that these gems are scattered around Skyrim, and there's no list of locations yet, that's what this is for! Hopefully, we can get a detailed list of all 24 Stones of Barenziah, numbered chronologically as they were added to the list, and also by location. Full descriptions are needed for locations, too, not just "It was in Riften".

If you do find a gem that's not on the list, and you want to help out, you can do it in any way you please, but following this template will make it much, much easier for us, as we can just hop in-game and confirm it!

Town:
Building:
Description:

"Town" being the Town it's located in, "Building" being the building it's in, and "Description" being where it is in the building.
So, without further ado, the list!

I've been able to get in-game and confirm the Hall of the Dead stone, but I haven't found Saarthal, so I'll have to do that when I find it. Thanks for the contribution! :D

Yeah, in that fort you go to during one of the early quests for the College of Winterhold, when you have to retrieve some books someone stole, there is one of the gems inside of there. Sorry I can't be more specific, I found it really early on, before i even got the quest. But it was on a shelf in a side room. I'll see if I can find the place's name later.

Specifics would've helped, but that's still useful - I've just started the College quests. :D

K you should get the quest relatively soon, after you get back from the ruins. Just make sure you check every room. The place has a tower outside and, depending on your level, a flame atronach guarding the door. Inside there are just a bunch of black mages and necromancers, preforming experiments on vampires. Also, if it helps, I'm pretty sure it was about eye-level on the shelf, on the right side of a fairly small room. But again, it has been a while since I found it. My mind may be deceiving me.

At the College of Winterhold, Arch-Mage Quarters, I think it was on the book shelf close to your bed.
