Stop an NPC wandering?

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 5:31 pm

Is there any way to stop an NPC from wandering using the console?
I am trying to set some scenes in my tower, for example I have captured several prisoners throughout my conquests and brought them back to my tower by making them followers. I use an animation mod to set them in poses, but if they are followers they will keep coming to me if I fast travel, or they will eventually go home if i tell them to wait. If I release them from being a follower the animation lasts until they decide to go do something.

I want to be able to bring them to my tower as a follower, then remove their follower status, but have them remain in one spot.

Cheers,
Kashaaz

Have you tried looking for a mod to prevent followers from leaving when in wait mode. Not sure one exist, but that might work.

oh thanks. seen this but didn't know that it stops them from leaving.

@op the mod in his link should work, will also make your prisoners a bit more lively.

I haven't used that one myself. But that's what it seems to claim.

Ah, I have tried that, which is great for making my tower more populated. However, the wander package still interferes with animations (at least on some - I shall have to test further). This is not usually a problem, just on one or two who I want to be bound. Combined with UFO and Followers Unlimited I have a pretty good selection.

The Followers Unlimited mod uses new scripts, not regular follower functions, so I read somewhere that their wait function does not send them home after a while. I will test if those special followers are affected in the same way, though I believe their wait status is like the above linked mod. If it works, however, I may make a version of FU that clones the prisoners onto the followers, if that makes sense.

Another option is just to create your own followers in the CK and make your home theirs. In fact, doesn't UFO allow you to make your followers set your home as theirs?
