Stopping vampire attacks in Dawnguard...

I'm considering getting Dawnguard, but there's one thing that's preventing me from doing so: The random attacks.

I HATE the idea of walking into a town and finding people dead just because I wasn't quite paying attention or something.

Is there a mod out there to stop these attacks altogether? Or maybe neuter the vampire NPCs by reducing their power and health?

I'm considering delving in to "neuter" the spawns as well, but I think it may be harder than it looks because of the conspicuous lack of official modding support for Dawnguard (IE: no papyrus source code files).

Thanks for the link! Not too sure how I feel about that mod since it sounds like it's got potential for corruption or system slow-down if it's constantly resetting the script, but I'll give it a shot.

Hmm....couldn't you just go into each NPC that spawns in the attacks, edit their values(like give them 1 health) and neuter them that way? No papyrus required?

Yeah I'm using that mod and it works perfectly. Why would vampires want to attack towns anyway, they want to remain hidden, don't they?!

The problem is finding out where they are in the object forms. It's likely nested templates and leveled actors.

The Dawnguard source files were provided via a recent update.
