Stormcloaks or Imperials - Khajiit

Post » Fri Sep 21, 2012 6:42 pm

Blame Legate Rikke for that, not the whole empire.
Both the Stormcloaks and the Imperials have bad apples or have just made some mistakes, Legate Rikke being too tired to care shouldn't affect your disposition between Hadvar who didn't want to see your Head cut off ._.

You mean Tullius and the nameless Imperial Captain. Rikke wasn't there.

Oh, lol.
I just had to remind myself what Rikke looked like, and I guess the only reason I thought it was her because they have the same voice.

Why do people keep making threads like these? It doesn't matter. Choose what you want, your race has absolutely no bearing on what you choose.

The ONLY "normal" options are Imperial - IL, Nord - SC. Any other race/faction combo at all is completely up to your choice, but so is Nords and Imperials joining their opposing factions. It matters not.

Yep Cecliff is right, and I'm actually fairly sure it's the exact same captain you get to kill in return in Helgen anyways. It's the one that comes through the barred gate with the other guard at the beginning of the dungeon. Can't guarantee it's her but it sounds like her and I like to pretend it is her haha.

The caravans are on both sides and at the same time on neither side.

However, since the Elsweyr seems to be under thalmor control, I'd say the khajiit might want to side with the stormcloaks, to "defeat the thalmor", so to say.

The nation(s) of Elsweyr offered themselves to become part of the SAD. They were never conquered, and technically are under their own control. They are a part of it willingly. The lore behind why they offered themselves is shady on the Thalmor's part, but the bottom line is that the kingdoms within Elsweyr do so because they want to do so.

Individuals may be for or against that development, though, same as any race. I can't imagine everyone bought the moons story, and even if they did, elves with a fanatical superiority complex are eventually going to get tiresome.

FWIW about the caravans, The Infernal City depicts the empire as tightly controlling sales of moon sugar even inside Elsweyr. Attrebus had to go buy some from a state store- the clerk was Altmer, IIRC- and pass it off to his Khajiit hosts who are then chased down by authorities for smuggling. So the limiting of moon sugar sales is not just a Skyrim thing, and is probably tied both to suppressing skooma manufacture and to the tax revenue that no doubt came from the state stores.

Not exactly. They say the Khajiit caravans are not allowed in the cities because everyone believes they are thieves and drug dealers. In fact, some of them are the first, and all of them are the second. Not wanting drug-dealers in your city is not racism, it is simply common sense. It just so happens that all the Khajiit in the game seem to be in the caravans. So we do not know how Nords feel about regular cat-folk who do not peddle skooma.

The fact that there are absolutely no Khajiit in the cities makes that very hard to believe. Considering that Argonians can be found in Solitude.

Well considering that the Khajiit are allied with the Thalmor they would either stay neutral(most likely), or join the Stormcloaks to help the Thalmors goals(if they even knew about that.)

But if it was the Average Khajiit who didn't know all that much, I would imagine they would join the Imperials. Considering the way Nords treat them.

Helping create an openly hostile nation against the Dominion is not exactly conducive to the Thalmor's goals.

There are numerically more Argonians, including in the mining areas. Other than the caravans and Thalmor agents, I've only ever seen one or two Khajiit bandits. Risaad's dialogue indicates that he's an unusual opportunist even for Khajiit traders.

You'd think they'd adapt to the cold more easily than Argonians, since they can just grow a winter coat. :D

As I said before, they are not in cities because the only ones in the game appear to be members of caravans who sell drugs. Cecliff did give us one example of a non-caravan Khajiit who can be found in a city, although she is quest-related. I honestly cannot think of any named Khajiit NPCs who are not in the caravans. So it is not very hard to believe at all.

Considering that the Imperials treat the Khajiit (and Argonians) exactly the same as the Nords, that is no reason either way.
