Strange intro bug... any ideas?

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 4:09 pm

So it's been about a month since I last played Skyrim. Today, I loaded her up and decided to start a new character. Everything appeared to be going great until I got to the point where Hadvar calls you forward and you create your character. Instead... my player just starts walking, and doesn't stop. He gets about 20 or 30 feet away from the others before he finally stops. After you create him and give him a name, he turns around and heads straight to the chopping block, even BEFORE the first guy (the one that gets his head cut off) gets called up. Then my player just stands there at the chopping block and nothing happens. The game is not frozen, I can look around, but I can't progress...

Any ideas how I can fix this!? I did a uninstall/reinstall twice with no success. If anyone can help. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.

update: Btw, I have uninstalled all mods... still a no go.

This is a known issue when using the animated prostitution mod (AP Skyrim). Make sure you have disabled all of your mods from the "Data Files" menu at the launch screen.

Animated prostitution mod!? LOL, well I never had that... but I did indeed have some nudy mods on there. Btw... I already disabled all of my mods. That was actually the first thing I did. But it hasn't helped. I have come up with a work around for the time being. I just downloaded a saved game file from the internet that starts right after the intro sequence of events. Haven't had any issues yet. Thanks for the advice though.

Erm yes, my mistake. But I did have the exact same problem as your good self, which was only remedied after uninstalling said mod. "Nudy" mods shouldn't matter as they usually only effect meshes and textures.
I never thought of downloading a new save game, but have heard that this could create problems in the future if the save came from a different build than the one you use.
It is recommended that you start a new game after every patch, and I have recently started a new character completely mod free, which is brilliant, except Bjorn Beornson has now married Lydia, and is naturally wondering what his wife looks like without all of that steel armour!
