Strange new error messages when trying to load any mod

Post » Wed Nov 21, 2012 12:47 pm

I'm not sure if I should post this in the Hardware/Software section or here, but as this is about the creation kit, I try here first...

Today when I tried to launch my mod (Vilja in Skyrim) I got some strange error messages I haven't ever seen before. And when I tried to load another mod, I got the same.

The first message goes like this:

MASTERFILE: LOCALIZATION: Lookup failed for ID: 0x00012584 from string file: STRINGS/Skyrim_ENGLISH.DLSTRINGS.

...and then follows a broad range of the same but with other IDs.

The others who are working together with me on Vilja don't get the same error messages, and, as I said, it's not just my own mod, it seems to be any mod.

A friend sent me a backup of his strings folder, and I tried with that installed instead. Same error messages popped up, so that was not the problem.

Does anyone know what this is and how to cure it?

You need to add the dlc bsa's to the ini. IIRC I think SkyrimEditor.ini

You may actually have a different problem. But try the solution in this thread: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1400797-cannot-open-dawnguardesm-in-ck-bgslocalizedstringcpp/

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately it didn't help :(.
I added it to all three lines, as per your instruction in the other thread.

For me, the error message appears as soon as I try to load a mod, not only Dawnguard related ones, and not after 60 % load time. It's instant and it's only there since today (well, I probably didn't load the ck yesterday).

Any other ideas on what could cause this? Or ideas of a cure?
