Hi i was on my way exploring stuff in the world after this new patch. It's a fresh game with the newest version that came out today. Completely fresh start. All autosaving functions turned off(not that it's relevant just trying to be as detailed as possible).


Anyway i enter Mzulft.. i kill lots of falmer and Dwemer guardians.. I come to this door that is locked.. ok i look for the key. Can't find it. I head back to the start of the dungeon. THE DOOR IS LOCKED? What the flying f*** is wrong with this game? There is no key for that door.. And the key for the observatory door or whatever it's called isn't in the chest it's supposed to be and i didn't drop the key since it's impossible to actually drop keys.


Short story - I'm stuck and i can't get anywhere as far as i'm aware, i've looked everywhere and this seems like a unique problem.

Why oh why must there always be so unlucky, i'm beginning to think i'm cursed for real.

Please help! I do have a other save game but it's several hours gameplay back and if this "glitch" happens now what's saying it won't happen again? If nobody can assist me in this i'll just have to start over.. Darn it!!

As I recall, the key is on the body of a Falmer in the room before door.

The other door you mention is the way out after you complete the quest.

isn't it in the chest... in the room where you kill the dwemer giant robot thing?

Before what door? And is it just a normal falmer? I thought i'd looted all of them but perhaps i missed one.

There was some loot in that chest but no key. And i've checked youtube videos that shows ppl finding a key in that chest.. I find all of this very peculiar

the only explanation i have is that when you unlock the door there is another locked door that is opened by someone behind it. And that is part of the college of winterhold quest line. So basically you cannot get the key if you are not on that quest.

Try doing the college of winterhold quests and when you are asked to go in there again check if the key is there. I am pretty sure it will be there

I don't think you understand. I can't exit the dungeon. The "normal" door that you open before the door that leads to skyrim , is locked. obviously it wasn't before, and i have no [censored] clue why it is now. So it would seem that i can't exit nor "continue" the dungeon.. guess i'm just going to have to start over -.- Damn gamebreaking glitches...
