So I fnally got jailed in Whiterun and I tried to break out. I picked the lock to the floor grate to get down in the sewers but I broke my only lock pick trying to pick the lock to the personal belongings chest that had all of my items. So now I can't get out of the sewers and I can't get back in my cell to serve the sentence.

I seem to be stuck. Is there anythign I can do to get out of this?

Interesting conundrum. Are there any guards you can surrender to and start over?

If you can make a big enough racket a guard might find his way down there, i.e shouting or something, but other than that I think you may be sweetroll'd.

It turns out there was a path in the dungeon I kept missing. It drops you down past the locked gate and you continue til you come to a ladder that lets you climb up to the prison guard barracks.
