Does anyone know how to get past this part?

I looked around for clues but I can't for the life of me figure it out. Each stone opens up a different gate, but by the time I run up to them they all close. I tried different variations but nothing seemed to do the trick -- I'm stumped.

You need the shout that makes you run really fast (pretty much teleport). The shout that the old dudes on top of that tall mountain teach you. Sorry, not near the game so can't be specific with shout name or location name.

It's the 2nd shout you learn if you follow the main quest.

I figured it had something to do with the speed shout, but it doesn't appear to help me. No matter how many times I try, the shout sends me in front of the first gate right before it closes again.

You have run past the first two, and use whirlwind sprint just as you're passing the last one. Just keep trying, its kind of difficult but once you get the timing right you can do it.

regular sprint through the activation stones, once the last activates use whirlwind sprint.
