Stuff in the teaser page

Post » Thu Aug 13, 2009 3:01 pm

Just some observations:

Oblivion gate superimposed on what looks like the white-gold tower in the upper right

The dragon-born in the lower right and the warriors to his left wear armor that looks a lot like blades armor from TES4

Dragons destroying cities in the left

Old guy in bottom middle is flanked by two characters that look like they are vomiting energy into him or something

Old guy looks like he might be summoning the dragon, maybe some sort of powerful mage?

Upper right, left of the oblivion gate is a demonic figure, under whom viking-esque warriors do battle with more imperial looking ones. Could this be a daedra?

Any thoughts?

there is definitively a blade fighting a dragon, you can tell because of the armor, its looks like roman armor, you can see him on the far right blocking the fire of a dragon

It looks to me like the three central figures (old bearded guy and associates) are trying to banish/kill/contain the dragon. But that's just my personal interpretation.

Could be, maybe the old guy is the voice-over guy.

Also, for anyone who has beaten morrowind, the demonic figure left of the oblivion gate looks vaguely like Akulakhan. I'm probably just imagining it.

It looks almost exactly like him. Look at the bottom of the arms and the head.

Seems like some sort of prophecy. Let me take a look at it a bit more.

Wow, I'm really excited. I just opened the forums to speculate some more, and found the skyrim forum...

I can't stop smiling.

Anyways...

I looked at the entire wall, and it looks pretty amazing. I presume this is a teaser than the main story. Judging from the wall, we will finally get some dragons. And they look...very evil. We will probably have to fight them.

Awesome.

OK, going out on a limb here but,

maybe the PC has to help the heir to the imperial throne kill some dragons in order to begin the restoration of the empire.

I think the image of akulakhan and the oblivion gate superimposed on white-gold tower is merely a recap of the past games.

If this is some sort of "prophecy stone," then it prophesied the events surround dagoth ur and the oblivion crisis, as well as the return of the dragons.

This could imply that elements from previous games such as ESIII and ESIV will have more direct roles in ESV than before.

Maybe the main character is supposed to become the avatar of Tiber Septim? He is the one specifically known as the "Dragonborn" after all.

And I think the guys "vomiting energy" are practicing "Thu'um" the Way of the Voice.

Did the trailer remind anyone else of the Guild Wars 2 story?

Awesome.

And theres going to be billions of them, just like cliff racers :ahhh:

I'm going with the idea of some dragons gone bad and got all its dragon buddies to destroy Skyrim. You have to join the blades to become some uber boffin and tame them.

I don't know, considering Dragon Age has just been a massive hit with evil dragons, and dragons have traditionally existed in ES lore but never in the games, I think it may not be as blatant as the depiction on the carving. Remember dragons have always been an important piece of ES symbolism.

Perhaps something more along the lines of Rand al'Thor as the 'Dragon Reborn' in the Wheel of Time series?

Akulakhan, actually, meant to represent the events of Morrowind.

Akulakhan and Numidium look too much alike. :P

To me it would make more sense for it to have a reference to Morrowind events than Daggerfall events on the wall.

Sorry for the high-jack, but I don't have face book (nor do I want it), but am I missing much? Is there more info beyond the main page/trailer?
