I'm so stupid, let's discuss

Post » Fri Sep 07, 2012 11:08 am

Oh my god, I am the dumbest person on Earth.

As it turns out, I won a signed copy of the Hunger Games on DVD...nine days too late. I can no longer claim it and I am so stupid. Anyone who knows me or has seen my posts around here knows I am a die-hard fan of the Hunger Games and to have this slip out of my fingers just... :swear: :dead: :wallbash:

What are some of your, "I'm so stupid" moments?

EDIT 2: My name is scratched out because I posted it on Reddit and wouldn't want the entire internet to know my name, eh?

How did they attempt to notify you?

The day that my wife needed a change of dark clothes washed pronto! for work the next day. She asked my to put them in the washer because I was already in the basemant.
I had something else on my mind and was totally preoccupied, and I reached for what I thought was detergent, and generously poured pure bleach on her dark clothes.

It was a contest on the http://elizabethbanks.com in which you make an account and http://elizabethbanks.com/blog/post/elizabeth-banks-contest-win-a-signed-copy-of-the-hunger-games what your favorite scene in the movie was. I did. I was apparently sent a PM message that I saw nine days later (I didn't check regularly, hence my stupidity) and missed out.

I was told that it was a bad idea to fall down a flight of stairs. I thought it'd be a good idea to rebel against the system and fall down a flight of stairs just because I was told it was a bad idea to. I totally regretted it. My grandparents totally let me do it too just to teach me a lesson.

One time I was talking to someone on my cell phone and I thought I misplaced it. So there I am searching for my cell phone in my room, yet I'm talking to someone on it.

I feel dumb when I fall asleep in class (something I do very frequently) and wake up shouting something totally random when someone wakes me up.
Waking up in Science class shouting "Banana Pudding" or something equally random is really embarassing.

That is a really stupid way to notify a person they won something... unless of course you received an email whenever you get a pm  \
...

Right now I think it is when I realized I was sort of leaving a bunch of people marked deceased on some program.

Nope. I didn't get an email notification. (Not that I check that one either.)

I know this because I had to access my email before accessing the account on the website (I forgot the password so had to change it) and when I was in there, there wasn't an Elizabeth Banks email so I figured I didn't win. But, low and behold, there was the golden message sitting in my inbox.

I know it may not be of any comfort to you, but I suspect that someone at Elizabeth Banks is thoroughly enjoying the signed copy in their very own library.

I'm deathly allergic to peas.

My friends decided to have a baby food eating contest and the baby food had peas in it. I for some reason thought "It doesn't have real peas in it, it's just baby food...." heh.... My throat swelled up, my face swelled up, and no one called the ambulance.... luckily the swelling doesn't last long.... bastards....

Nah, some fifteen year old fat chick obsessed with the Hunger Games is.

The prize is re-awarded to someone else should the original winner not respond within 24 hours.

previous to this event i nearly never check my facebook account, only when my email sent me notifications about facebook (sometimes not even then).

So after about 10 days of not checking i checked and found out i had been invited to an anual drinking party that i had been wanting to go too, however it had already taken place the day before. Alot of old friends were there and this was going to be the last one since alot of people there were moving away to get their lives started (most having graduated from college or moving to go to a new one).

The night of the party i was bored out of my mind, just watching alot of anime that i wasn't even interested in but had nothing better to do. The party turned out to be epic. What upset me most was that my friends did not bother to text me, they said they thought i got the face book invite. Although they know better that i hardly ever check it.

This summer I was going to express my feelings for someone on Facebook, I was deadset on doing it. Good thing I argued with myself about it and eventually I talked myself out of it. Worst possible thing you could do! I'm proud of you Stigwa!

You guys make me wish I won something then forget to claim it....

Now I remember it was for the Fallout New Vegas CE Preorder.... the store I preordered from didn't get their alloted amount and emailed me stating they had one on hold for an hour at a bestbuy. I check my email 3-4 times a day a few hours apart which I missed by 4 hours.
