Personally, I'm really interested in the frequent content updates they promised. :) That's almost as fast as Guild Wars 2!

Ok so where do I give them my money?

I'm pleased they don't want a game where buy buy buy is shoved in your face ruining immersion all the time (like LOTRO much to the dislike of every player).

I'm curious though as to just how essential to gameplay the other "premium" stuff that you can buy outside the subscription will be. I'd rather know some more about this before I lower my eyebrows.

It was always set in stone that ESO will be P2P IMO, but good to finally have it confirmed :tops:

But wait, this means an end to the neverending subscription discussion treads here on the forums :ooo:

No, they'll just become 'When will ESO go Free-to-play?" Instead.

Probably from the same people who keep posting that the game will fail because it doesn't meet their narrow minded vision of what they think the game should be.

As for me, my issue is simply that I loath to pay a subscription UNLESS that promise of new content every 4-6 weeks holds out. There also needs to be enough base content to start with as well.

Not like STO, where you could literally blow through all the base content in about two week back when the game first launched with a sub.

Although, just to point out. Those that think a subscription fee will block trolls, spawn campers, gold sellers, spammers, l337 kids and general numptys.

Prepare for a rude awakening. They always seem to find a way, regardless of the game type.

Don't think anyone was expecting that.

At least I didn't. I'm old enough gamer to know how things work. That's why we will most likely have "report spam" button.

That doesn't make them go away but let's hope Zenimax offers a real premium service that includes really taking care of reported spam.

Actually, some of the previous threads contained posts along the lines of...

"....A subscription fee keeps away the spammers and gold sellers'

"...A sub would keep out the riffraff'

The problem is, since each player in a sub based game is a sure source of income. Sub based games have been lax in dealing with those types in the past. Hopefully, Zenimax will weigh up the sub paid by a goldseller against the subs lost when five players quite in frustration and deal accordingly.

This definitely ISN'T one of the P2P perks. For every kid that can't afford it, there's 100 more whose parents will pay it for them.
