Ive been burned by these game company so much the last 2 years. Diablo 3, SimCity 2013 the list goes on. Then today I heard the sad news they are going to make ESO sub based. Ive gotten so leery of most companies and I used to always say... Bethesda is one of the last good ones. Now this. If the game was free then a sub after a month Im ok with that gives me a chance to try it and decide. F2P im playing Neverwinter online its ok but I was really excited about ESO.

60$ Game, 15$ Sub Fee, And a Item shop? If Im paying a Sub I want everything period. Why if Im paying to play does jack rich guy get a better mount ect...Now well hear well wow does it... Yea well wow turned into a big pile of steaming [censored] long ago cause of all this stuff. So now it Bethesda's time to bend all their loyal fans over. Its sad there's no-one left. All these company's Are just gone. My Last hope is Star Citizen.

Neither one of those games are subscription based games... what other games are on your list?

Not an item shop, a store, similar to what World of Warcraft has (Blizz Store) you buy services such as Name Changes, there will most likely be vanity items but nothing that will impact the game at its core.

Not better, just maybe prettier or sometimes in WoW's case much much uglier.

Umm.. When? 7.7 million people would disagree and prior to MoP Expansion 10 Million people. Ignoring the Millions of people who still play, the ones who don't like it, it's not because someone else paid $25 for a mount.

Zenimax is the studio making the game; Bethesda is only publishing it.

People are going to have to make their own decision as to whether or not the service is worth the cost.

Another one of these posts? The horse is a bloodied mess already, leave it alone! There are people, like me, who are have no problem with the sub fee. Some people hate the idea of a cash shop, but seriously they said things like char renames, vanity items, fun stuff. Nothing wrong with that assuming it's true and we have no reason not to believe them right now. What's the difference of having an "item shop" where you can buy a character rename for $X and having a service page on their website with the same feature? It's just more streamlined and easier to access.

Stop freaking out and overreacting to things. If you don't like the sub fee, don't buy the game. If you have a problem with there being an item shop where you can purchase certain services conveniently in game, don't buy the game. But it's stupid to freak out and complain about something that you haven't even seen yet and pointing at games that have gone free to play and implemented their cash shops after going free to play as a reference.
