Suggest me a class, please

My first and highest level character is a plate wearing, shield and sword wearing hero that gradually got boring just swinging my sword over and over, but it was great fun while it lasted. I then made a sneaky archer type that I couldn't get into, I felt a little too weak when I got exposed to things after playing the heavy armour type.

I just want any suggestions or knowing what you guys are enjoying? I really like the looks of light armour more than anything and I've never tried a caster, I just want a class a little more engaging than a shield/sword guy.

Khajiit Assassin. Focus on Sneak, Marksman, Light Armor, Pickpocket, Lockpick, and Alchemy. I'm running a character similar to this, becoming less "pure" assassin as I advance through the game. Stuck with him for longer than I ever did with my first Oblivion character.

That said, I always play the stealthy way. I move through Skyrim like I'm playing Splinter Cell. You might not enjoy the stealthy aspects of combat - it could be quite a culture shock, especially if you're used to hacking and slashing. I'd recommend playing it on as hard a difficulty as you can bear, as well - I'm running it on Expert (didn't have the balls to go for Master first time), and whist I died (A LOT) in the first few levels, as is always the case with stealthy characters, the more you advance the more fun you'll have.

Spell sword! Focus on all schools of magic and focus on one-handed weapons and heavy armour!

Try and make an assassin character that Only uses melee. Focus on Sneak, 1hand, Light Armor, Alchemy, Illusion, maybe even Conjuration?. Dual wield Daggers, or at least dagger/Your choice. Sneaking up on enemies is much more fun if you don't just shoot them with a bow from 30 yards away. Illusion is great to stay hidden, or get your enemies to attack one another if you get into a bind. I play a character similar to this, the only problem I ran into is I progressed Pickpocket and Lockpicking too much early, and i was over powered by enemies by level 18. This is a very fun build and like i said, sneaking is much more fun if you don't use archery.

Why dont you just do what you think is fun and dont think about it, you dont have to limit yourself, wasn't that the whole idea behind removing classes? Which is apparently such a good thing?

I'm liking some of these ideas, anyone got some cool looking characters in light armour to inspire me? A little info on them would be nice, I'm just curious on what other people are playing now :)
