Suggestion: Bethesda, add some Dragon-crafted weapons!

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 9:01 pm

Every other smithing specialty includes both armor AND weapons, while Dragon is armor/shields only. There should be no reason why you couldn't make weapons with dragon parts too!

Dragon-Fang Dagger (1 Bone, 1 scales, 1 Leather straps) Improved with Bone.
Dragon-Bone Bow (3 Bone, 2 scales, 2 Leather Straps) Improved with Bone.
Dragon-Talon Sword/War Axe/Mace (4 Bone, 1 Scales, 1 Leather Straps) Improved with Bone.
Dragon-Bone Greatsword/Battle Axe/Warhammer (6 Bone, 2 Scales, 1 Leather Straps) Improved with Bone.

They would do about 10% more than the previous tier's best weapon of the same type. (The scales are used to make a comfortable haft/handle of course, in case you were wondering.)

This is a good suggestion. It's a shame they botched the dragon bone smithing.

Honestly there should be random unique items in the game along with the pre fabricated ones. Like when you go to enchant it would be a random enchantment.

I see what you did there.....

I'm thinking that Dragon weapons were put in the game like crafting your own arrows and taken out for no good reason. I don't know why they wouldn't add them.

I hate dragon bone anything, it looks stupid to me, and feels out of place, though there is a mod for, but Im guessing you bought it for Console...*sigh*

Got any tips? Even pre-CK there may be something useable.
Took a gander over at Skyrim Nexus, only found those silly retextured Orcish weapons posing as "Dragonbone Weapons".

Thats what it is, but its not really a retexture, You create them, but they use the Orcish model, Orcish weapons stay the same.

You want more ridiculous looking gear in Skyrim? If anything, we should have an option to change the look of any weapon / armor to that of another of a lower tier.

If youre saying that Dragon Bone armor, and others like it are ridiculous looking, I agree with you 100%, Seemd everything after Orcish (Even that is close) looks waaaaayyyy out of place, and doesnt feel right, yes, the Dwarven and ebony look amazing, but they just dont fit skyrim for me, Dragonbone armor sort of fits for me, but I hate the look of it.

Two words: Downloadable Content.

How else are they supposed to get more money from buyers?

You mean like when they tried to sell us horse armour in Oblivion? Don't be bloody stupid.

Only DLC that they will make money off of is quest expansion... and that's only if they get the worst bugs out of Skyrim first. I paid 50 of my hard earned pounds on a main quest that was and still is broken for me.

How is it stupid? It is exactly something they would do. They did it before in Oblivion with the mages guild. Or have you forgotton how there was a door leading to the Orrery long before the dlc ever even came out? Just that it was locked. Why even have the highlighted name there if they did not intend to add it in the first place?

Simple; release it later to make more money. Hell they did the same thing with the Spell tomes dlc.

So don't be ridiculous and say that I am stupid for being logical. They are a company. And that is exactly something that they would do.
