Suggestions about Enchanting.

Remove Bow enchantments and add arrow enchantments. Bow enchantments make no sense. On the other hand, if you could enchant a pack of 20 dwarven arrows with a specific enchantment...
This would be much more versatile and useful than the system we have now. This way, no more "oh-noes-my-bow-has-a-fire-enchantment-that-is-useless-against-this-ancient-fire-dragon" moments, you could, mid-battle, change between various enchanted arrows.

Oh, and add arrow weight. It is just ridiculous to carry around 2000 iron arrows.

Another thing: You can destroy again itens with the same enchantment as you already know, so when you try to enchant an item with that specific enchantment, it will be stronger.

Yap, repost

Well there are mods that have craftable arrows with various enchants, but yeah enchanting arrows would be a nice addition. I do carry 3 bows on my ranger but while they all have different enchants they look different as well so I can live without it for aesthetic reasons.

Enchanting Arrows is something people have wanted since the early days of TES. The issue comes in that you would have to enchant each arrow individually, which would require a Soul Gem for each arrow. If you think about it from a Lore and Mechanics Standpoint, you can understand why this is.

Makes more sense to Enchant the Bow as that takes one Gem for any arrow you use.

Enemy archers back in Morrowind seemed to always be trying to make me look like a pincusion with their enchanted arrows and crossbow bolts just fine and dandy, seems to me that they existed pretty well in past games when it comes to the lore explanation for why this doesn't exist.

The real answer is that the enchanting menu system is designed around enchanting single items, not stacks of them at a once with a single soul gem. Having the ability to enchant stacks of arrows would mean a seperate or submenu for the enchanting interface that would need to be designed and coded into the game that uses part of a soul gems power per arrow or lets you input a stack of arrows for use with a single gem, spreading out the power of the gem over the entire stack.

Bethesda has obviously decided to spend their time and resources elsewhere, the end result of which is that there is no player usable ability to make enchanted arrows, save for using mods on the PC that kind of kludge in these items.

What about something, like, enchanting them in packs? Like, Petty Soul Gem would enchant x amount of arrows, Common Soul Gem enchants y amount of arrows, etc.

Or something like quivers, that hold the arrows, have a small weight, and those are enchanted? Simply switch from a quiver to another to have adifferent elemental bonus.
Or maybe quivers are like armor, with different qualities based on material? Like, a Glass Quiver holds less arrows than a Ebony quiver, and the Ebony Quiver would need a soul gem with a more potent soul than the Glass.

The bow applies the magic effect to the arrow as it is shot.

If you applied it to a pack of arrows, then you would have to break the soul gem up into pieces, as soon as you do that, you lose the soul. If you applied it to the quiver, then the quiver would have to apply the effect to the arrow, which means it would damage you when you pulled it from the quiver.

That means 100 arrows = 10 pounds. Now stuff is getting heavy, especially since a bow is about the same weight as 100 arrows.
I often carry over 200 arrows at a time, that's > 20 pounds of wieght! Even RL arrows that I've used don't weight that much.

If they wanted to add weight to arrows, I'd only accpet it if there was a fletching craft so I could make the arrows I need on the fly. 1 Ingot + 4 stacks of firewood = 50 arrows or something like that.
Instead I have to buy as many as I can every time I find a mercahnt selling the specific ones I need.
