Surrendering

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 3:37 pm

Just wondering if there is a way to surrender like there was in Oblivion? When I played it at eurogamer I couldn't figure out if there was one or not, it would be RATHER annoying if I accidentally hit someone, then having to kill then, to then having to kill all the witnesses, all because of an accident!

But you're forgetting one thing. The Hero of an RPG has one weapon that can protect them from anything. The load button.

You have to block and talk to whoever you're fighting...if they like you enough they'll stop killing your face

This is a good question.
I imagine all the DiD-Players ranting, because they accidentally hit a guard with their bow, and are now killed by a horde of guards after 50 hours of gameplay with no save.
The lulz are strong in this one.

Good point. I guess all dual-wielders are considered as berserkers who don't discuss other that with sharp iron(y).

I think that the block "button" is the trigger, not the actual blocking action, probably.

But won't you just end up swinging the sword even if it is just the blocking button that allows you to yield, causing you to hit the person right after they accept your surrender?

I don't know... Maybe the only way to avoid jarate will then be to change weapons for a configuration that allows blocking (1 sword only ?) and then proceed with the surrendering attempt thing... It's a shame, but that's gameplay limitation with the way the pad is used I guess.

The (Dutch) manual says you only need to sheath your weapon(s) to yield.
