Switching to Mage mid game?

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 12:14 am

Hello fellow forumers. I am level 11 in Skyrim and have been focusing most of my skills in smithing, one handed, two handed, and heavy armor. I have now decided after to going to the College of Winterhold that being a mage seems a lot better. Would it be hard for me to switch to a Restoraton, and Destruction mage mid-game?

They say the soft cap is level 50. So you're not even mid-game yet. :P

depends how much of a mage u want to be. obviously u wont be as much a mage as others who spend all their points in magic. but part of the beauty of the classless perk system that skyrim has is that u can switch at any moment.

as Nubius mentioned, ur nowhere near halfway through the game. ur nowhere near as far into the game as u think u r. switching this early is still fine.

Not a very heavy mage, just need to be able to do some damage with destruction and heal myself if needed.

Build your character the way you want. Im straight mage because early on you need alot of points in damagign abilities but that's not a soft mages survival. Basically I make enemies fight each other. Open door. Target watch as they kill each other, loot.

Only thing is if you re-roll you can refocus. I've already re-rolled (although it's a chronic issue for me...) one guy being melee/bow/sneak focus and the 2nd being destro/resto. Lvl 1-11 is much faster than 11-22 just sayin'.
