Post » Mon Sep 17, 2012 7:30 am

I dont normal use two handed swords but i recently made a daedric greatsword and I noticed that at max level legendary its at 52 and my normal daedric sword is at level 80 something I beleive.

I am confused shouldnt the greatsword have more damage than the one handed sword?

You haz higher skill in one-handed.
Translation: You have a higher skill in one handed.

If that is the case then yes there will be a difference in power. If that is not the case it is a glitch.

Your two-handed skill is lower than your one-handed skill. Like the ebony blade on my khajiit (who has like a 60 in two-handed and 100 in one-handed) does much less damage than a one-handed sword.

The Ebony Blade will always have bad stats no matter what....My one handed and two handed are at 100 and the Ebony blade does like 16 damage.

No. After you hit legendary that is it. When you increase your two handed stats the damage will increase with it.

How did you understand that question?

The 1H skill has nothing to do with crafting. Then again, I was lost half way through that question.

Enchantments don't go up or down in power (strength wise) as they all have the same stats no matter what your combat level is.
"The more powerful the enchanter, the stronger the magic he can bind to his weapons and armor."

Whatever enchantment that weapon gets it stays that way, they don't fluctuate with level. Only thing they do is last long the better enchanter you are. So if you have a fire damage on a weapon the base damage it does will forever be that same stat even if you are lvl 100 enchanter. It just doesn't consume so much energy.

yeah but I thought the damage a weapon does, had nothing to do with your skill with the weapon, but from what I understand the higher your skill leve the higher the damage.

*shrugs* I don't know I just did. Reading between the lines.
The way I see it was he learned that damage is based off of combat skill and in his OP he wanted to know about its Legendary status. Combo of the two was asking if he could improve it as the damage goes up.

Helping is what the forums are meant to be used for.

Damage is defined by what your smithing improvement skill is and what your skill in that kind of combat is.

Think of it this way:
An experienced warrior can swing a daedric sword that is dull (unimproved therefore not 'legendary') while a different warrior swings the same kind of sword that has been sharpened ('legendary'). The 2nd warrior is going to be more effective with his cut based off of the blades quality.
Now factor in how well they know how to use that kind of weapon. If you give a swordman a mace and tell him to kill a man he could probably do it but not very well. Vice Versa.

Ah...I see. That is correct. The skill level directly affects the amount of damage. As does the improved level of the weapon. However, the game only "labels" the top improvement level as Legendary. There is no cap on that. So a weapon can continue to be improved past Legendary. This is achieved by having a 100 in Smithing, the associated weapon type perk, a full set of Fortify Enchanted gear and taking a Fortify Smithing potion.

Be warned that doing this will make a very overpowered weapon and thus...the game will become quite boring.

I truly believe the game was not meant to allow this continued improvement. I feel it should have been capped at Legendary. I personally stop when I reach that point.
