V-Sync vs Sound Bug, .ini Tweakers Help!

Hi all,

So most PC Gamers will have seen by now that it is possible to disable V-Sync in Skyrim via one of the .ini files. The news has been banded around everywhere, even gaming magazines are explaining how to do this.

Problem is, when I disable V-Sync via the .ini file I get a sound bug when indoors. It sounds like someone is banging on wood or rolling a barrel around or something, in technical terms it sounds like an object is clipping over and over again. It really detracts from the atmosphere and can make conversations indoors an excersice in great concentration.

I have narrowed down the search for where the noise is coming from and I *think* it is coming from NPCs who interact with something like sitting on a chair, leaning on a bar or stirring a cooking pot.

At the moment I'm stuck with the choice of having the awful mouse lag with V-Sync enabled, or nice smooth mouse the way it is supposed to be with V-Sync off but the awful din whenever I enter a house or inn or other building.

I have seen this sound issue reported in a couple of places and also seen it confirmed that it is indeed the .ini tweak to turn off V-Sync that causes it, but literally only 3 or 4 people have reported this and it seems like hundreds or thousands of people must have tried this .ini tweak. Am I an odd one out, or is everyone experiencing this?

I have also tried enabling V-Sync in the .ini file but forcing it off in my Catalyst Control Center. This fixes the sound issue, it also fixes the mouse lag, woohoo... nope, wait, that's premature, using this method my character turns transparent in 3rd person mode. Arrgghhh!

Anyway to turn off V-Sync without causing the sounds issue (on a Radeon card).

Thanks guys!

It has been reported that the physics go insane when the framerate is really high. So it makes sense that, with VSync disabled, moving items indoors (meaning high fps) will start flying around making loud noises.
