For me it would be that you really have to put depth into the marriage, companionship and guild rank systems

1) The lesson you should have learnt from Fallout 3, Fallout NV and Oblivion? Yeah maybe you should have learn that before making The Elder Scrolls 6
2) Make sure the game runs on all versions
3) Bucket Head people are hilarious
4) You need to brush up on your PS3 developing skills

If we're not allowed to be doing this then it's all Dilbert's fault, he put me up to this!

Streamlining is good for your bank account and bad for your fan base.

I like my RPGs deeper than Mariana's Trench. Fix the Guilds and make them with re-playability in mind. Not everyone plays a WarriorMageThief Hybrid class.

You don't have to...nothing is forcing you to interact at all with the Dark Brotherhood, the Thieves Guild, or the Companions. There is slight interaction with the College of Winterhold, but that would make sense because you are searching for a lost magical artifact that stems from the beginning of time. If you DIDN'T ask a mage's advice, I would find it to be unrealistic.

Walk into whiterun/riften, and get approached by a character who FORCES you into the guild's intro quest, permanently cluttering your quest log.

I agree - you have to be lucky to send him away.

On a more positive note I think they should carry over the currently changed way of how character creation goes, not being limited in any way and being able to make any character archetype just as easily with any race was a great step forward I think since there's a greater sense of freedom.

If they reverted from this I'd be quite sad.

1 - Guilds need to be more relevant and have longer quests lines.
2 - Key NPCs need to respond properly to the player progression. If I became the Archmage, it would be sweet that at least the jarls and mages know that.
3 - Less hand holding. Less pointers, more description.
4 - Same quests to rival factions need to stop. The same fort conquests two or three times are ok, but not all the quests for god sake.
5- Spellmaking and more customization would be appreciated.

That said, Im pretty satisfied with Skyrim and I think that Bethesda is close to make the best sand box RPG of all time.

Seriously?!?

Your character doesn't have to do anything. You're not 'forced' to do anything in this game beyond escaping Helgen.

You're crying over nothing here.

And in reply to the OP...

I would like to be able to turn my character completely around during character creation.
And give us an option to adjust our character when exiting the opening dungeon.

That's all.

Beyond that... as we've seen in the past... TES VI will be a completely different experience than the previous games... and that's a good thing.

I don't want another Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, or Skyrim. I've already played them.

Thanks Bethesda.

Spellmaking.
To add to this... Unarmed, Mysticism, Athletics, Acrobatics, Classes, Attributes, Greaves, Pauldrons...Oh my, I was only supposed to pick one? In that case, hiring competent writers would be my first choice. Second would be quest Skyrim's design cannot be repeated, it's just horribly implemented.

Oh damn, I did it again. I just can't choose one lesson that needs to be learned, there's too many missteps that have been made for me to choose that one thing that will make it better.
