Hello,

Im stuck at the quest: "Taking care of business", did the quest succesfully. i stole the item, pickpocket the npc and gave it to him. then i proceed futher by talking to brynjolf, but he gives me quest to meat him at the bar in the rat tunnel. i go there and he is nowhere to be found. i got the town center again, and there he stands. can start a dialogue with him, but he wont continue none the less.

This just happened to me as well. Does ANYONE know a way to reset a quest or something? I absolutely need this.

I had this same issue... it is a known bug where Brynjolf gets stuck talking to the other NPC's and won't advance to the Ragged Flaggon. The best way to advance is to go to the ragged Flaggon, and open the command console. Type the following.

moveto player 0001B07D

this should move him straight to the ragged flaggon and the quest will continue. That was my only way to get past the bug. Make sure you type this command while in the Ragged Flaggon. Using the console command to move Brynjolf does not mess up the steam achievements either. I just signed up to answer this for you guys as well.... I was very frustrated when I encountered the bug, so thought I would share the answer with you guys. Hope it helps.

Sometimes Brynjolf will get stuck in the Market along with the other market merchants and be unable to leave to meet you at the Ragged Flagon, acting as if he is still creating a distraction, even though you have completed the previous quest. A way to get around this is by pushing Brynjolf to the door to The Ratway (by either sprinting at him or using the Unrelenting Force shout, then yielding/healing hands). Tell any followers you have to wait in Riften, save, activate the door and quickly talk to Brynjolf. (This does not work 100% of the time, so if Brynjolf doesn't appear in The Ratway, load your save.) Once you're in The Ratway with Brynjolf, attack him and run to The Ragged Flagon. Once inside, have him chase you all the way up to the bar, then yield. Talk to Brynjolf quickly, before he can leave to go back to his stall, and he will give you the next part of the quest. Alternatively on the PC you can go to the Ragged Flagon and enter these console codes:

• prid 00020545
  
• disable
  
• resurrect 1
  
• enable
  
• moveto player

I had the Bug that Brynjolf didnt stop his distraction.

Here is what to do:

1) Get your bugged Queststage-number from the list at the link

2) Open Console with the ^ - Key

3) Type (without brackets) "setstage TG01 X" while X have to be replaced with your Queststagenumber from the list you want to be completed cause its bugged.

3a) If your are stuck in the Quest "A Chance Arrangement" just replace TG01 with TG00 and get your Queststagenumbers from http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:A_Chance_Arrangement#Bugs

4) Yay!!!

5) If it didnt work check if you got the right Queststagenumber from the list
