Hi guys and girls, I've just registered, been playing and reading the forum for a while.

I'm having an irritating problem, not sure if anyone else has experienced it.
I've done 2 playthroughs with a high elf, both times I've finished the mage questline before anything else. I then move onto the main quest. Everything is fine until I have to retrieve the horn of Jurgen windcaller. I clear the dungeon and head off to Riverwood to meet with Delphine. When I arrive in Riverwood everyone and their dog go completely ballistic and attack me. I am definitely not a vampire - I've checked numerous times. The first mage I created I had to shelve because I couldn't complete the quest, and it's pretty frustrating, I've spent some time on the latest character and the moment she enters River I have everyone attacking her. Re sheathing swords doesn't help and there is no option to pay a bounty. Not sure if this is relevant but they're busy screaming that there is not place for the thalmor in skyrim. Has anyone had this problem? Is it related to race, or is it the fact that people don't like dead thralls.
I seriously don't want to do the mage questline again and I'm not sure what is causing this problem. Again - I'm not a vampire.

That's very odd. Normally the main and secondary quest lines are "neutral" and it matters not what class or race your character is. Hm. How is your mage dressed? Like a Thalmor? I've heard of automatic hostility experienced by other players based on gear, but have never seen it myself. Perhaps if you donned miner's clothing and carried a pickax they might be amenable?

Yeah I'm not saying it's related to the mage quest, but it is odd that both aldmer mages had the problem at the exact same point. I haven't played another mage. I'll try her again tonight, I'll try some other towns to check if the problem just happens at RIverwood or if it is Skyrim wide.
