Anyone on here have any experience with tattoos and the average cost of them? On my upper arm near the shoulder I want to get a Roman Centurion helmet with a banner beneath the helmet that says in old style Roman letters "SPQR" and a banner above the helmet that says "Vae Victis". The whole thing won't be too big, probably covering as much surface area as a fist. No color either. Any estimations on how much something like that would cost?

Depending on who you go to, how much they charge, and how detailed you want it, I'd say anywhere from $200-$500us.

Tattoos cost, for a well-seasoned artist, around $130 an hour. More complicated tattoos obviously take longer. With the tattoo size and complexity.... $200? It's a ballpark guess, though, because different artists will still charge different prices. Just go in to a parlor and ask them, they'll give you an estimate!

Just two comments:
1) Make sure the tattoo artist uses clean and sterilized equipment and single-use needles.
2) Never and I really stress this, never walk into a tattoo parlor while you're hammered. You will definitely regret it later. I still do...

Any self respecting tattoo artist wouldn't tattoo someone in that state. That being said, I wanna see it.
