Tavern Life

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 9:11 pm

There needs to be the traditional /duel plus a tavern /brawl which is only bare fisted of course and it can be combined with drinking games.

Also all characters need to be able to take up minstal skills and be like the entertainers in Star Wars Galaxies.

The only place using bard skills or brawling can take place is inside taverns

I agree with this, but I think Bard skills should be usable everywhere! Imagine playing a concert at the bottom of some insanely hard Public Dungeon!

Brawling would be great! Especially if you could place bets on the winner

It would be cool if there was brawling.

But TESO will likley have a more traditional MMO "Duel" where you challange players to fight you.

I think Bards will exist, but there music will probably just be used for buffs.

Off topic - but lets hope Bards are not playable classes. We wouldn't want a load of fruity musicians and dancers singing monsters to death.

It basically has insturments in-game, and players can write their own song and stuff...it's really complex, and I don't understand it all, but it's incredibly fun to play around with!

We SHOULD be able to make our own class, a la Morrowind or Oblivion. ...We'd better be able to. >.>

No, no...I'm not disagreeing with you there...just that leveling up my flute skill should be reserved for band camp. Even the deepest soprano of a bard would squeal like a girl if a monster ever got a hold of him.

Edit: There actually was a class called 'Dancer' in FFXI, it was powerful too.

I've always thought of Bards as more of a Roguish character with a lot of Charisma.

this one time, at band camp... :whistling: and thinking about it, who needs to be able to compose anything? if the bards in skyim are any indication you dont even need to know how to hold a flute to make a decent living as a bard in TES

I believe it's more of a passing fancy to some...kinda like having a class made just for crafting

It's ok...I tried LOTRO's and I think I offended the NPCs with how bad my music was. xD

Barding should be a skill tree in the mon combat trees that everyone can do. If they add fishing it should get a similar tree too. You could have the ability to make instruments and more. With fishing you should be able to make fishing poles and lures

I think the best thing the bars will be for will be RP.

You'll probably get food and drink from the bartender (hopefully you won't be allowed to sell your junk loot to him)

Players will probably meet in these taverns DnD style.

But seriously Brawling? you have to be joking. Dueling it will all be dueling.

When you spawn in at the newb zone someone will probably challenge you to a duel.

Ya brawling. A lighter version of the duel. No magic, no potions, just brawling. They should make it sho you can use chairs as weapons like they do in the old western movies.

They arent having quest hubs but if they ever decide to add them they should put a board inside the tavern for them and give some to the bartender

Make taverns a real meeting place necessary to the game

Just make sure you don't add the same NPCs to every single tavern and I will be cool. Even if they don't give us a game mechanic to duel the RP community will make sure people do this.

Uo had chess games in the bars. A friend and I were playing chess in a bar one time, when our Guildmaster stealthed in and placed a dagger on the table we were sitting at and walked out. We were like WTF? where'd that dagger come from lol. Yeah brawls and music and mini-games such as chess or darts or something. And dancing girls and tavern wenches and ummm lots of beer! Getting intoxicated in a bar in Cyrodil could have some major consequences.

Well, some DnD bars have PVP areas for players to duel in; perhaps there could be fighter's rings for players to brawl and others can bet on them.
