Team speak

Post » Mon Oct 21, 2013 5:32 am

Through all of my keeping up on news of ESO I haven't heard anything about teams peak. for those who don't know I'm referring to a mic system to communicate with a group of players.

I remember playing WoW the system they had was shoddy at best and my guild used ventrillo. As many of my mmo brothers know vent costs more money so I'm wondering of anyone has any knowledge as to ZOS making a great useable teams peak system in game

All feedback is appreciated

-thanks Stephen Bane

I don't think there will be any in-game communication, but you can use external communication sources as normal.

90% guilds themselves have TS,Mumble, ventrilo, skype or something similiar.

imo not needed for the actual game engine to have it inside. plus the quality usually in mmo:s having it is so bad that anyone with experience with it wants a real voice host for it.

we know from experience that the reliable voice communication systems are guild oriented, not actually from the MMO side. have to remember , ESO devs are not telecommunication experts etc.

also as a sidenote, as we know how bad the MMO coms are to date, we can safely say that it would be more bright to use all that money from that "service" to the actual increasemant of content for us all. (would be actually something we all use).

i know i will use our Teamspeak or Mumble server even if we would have a semi ok voice system ingame. i would not use it as all my friends and guildies use the TS/Mumble we have now.

This.

Every MMO developer should've learned this from WoW and should know to not waste money on things like this.

A much better investment would be to, with company funds, purchase several thousands slots in external sources and figure out a way to let players rent and share these things, like certain other sources do for free that aren't even from the same company that made the game.

I'm surprised MMO makers haven't co-ordinated with VoIP makers to get cheaper deals for their players as well. So much better than trying to spread themselves too thin.
