Teaming up Dark Elfs and Nords is very bad thing because the

Dark elfs and Nords are most popular races in TES and most popular races chosed by players. And most people favorite locations is Skyrim and Morrowind.

+ Nords look like humans which will make most people going play human, chose them over bretons and redguards. And Orcs are least played race in TES. (Even in WOW most people chose orcs only because of racials)

If you ask some one "what is your favorite races in TES?" many players will answer dark elfs and nords - especially after Skyrim and Morrowind success.

Least played faction probably will be Bretons-Redguards-Orcs (not many people chose redguards but almost no one play orcs)

Looks like 60-70%-90% players will play DarkElf-Nord faction which will make game and factions very unbalanced...

As a former WoW and Orc player, I am qualified to tell you that you are full of crap. I played Orcs because I liked their lore and I liked their heroes, and so did a lot of people who played Warcraft III. Except in the case of Draenei, racials stopped meaning anything five years ago. I play Orcs in the Elder Scrolls games because I happen to like them. Orcs do barbarian warriors far better than do....any other race, even Nords. Orcs in WoW had admittedly a better culture, though.

What makes you think Nords and Dunmer are the most popular races in the game? I hope it isn't the race poll I posted on this forum - thats a tiny drop in the bucket. Big bucket when you consider that millions of people will likely buy this game, and less than 200 have voted here. Coupled with this forum being populated by a heavy majority of lore fans, who's love for nords and dunmer are closely linked to some of the recent games previously released to this franchise.

There are plenty of great advantages to each race...even those ugly green orcs. There will be plenty of people in each race. The balanced populations of each faction are the least of my worries about the game.

Going along with that - 'Guilds' are in the game (*confirmed) do think that could mean House Redoran, Hlallu, Telvanni...? I even think players get to lead the guilds, how awesome would that be - head of House Redoran!

Yep, me too. Before the fighters guild, mages guild, or even the start of the main quest line - I'd run straight to Ald'ruhn. Uh, I read some lore saying Blacklight was the original Redoran 'capital'...any truth to that?

Black Light IS the Redoran Capital, even during the Morrowind events. (Or at last the major Redoran city)
But I think we shall go first to Ald Ruhn, just for the old times.
And be sure... if we cant join the great house... we will create a guild for it!!!!

My problem is that I want to play a Dunmer but I don't want to be in an overpowered faction. I like being the underdog with lots of enemies to kill. Not the top dog trying to sniff out the rodents...just an anology not saying the other factions are rodents...
Yeah, I see that as a problem as well. Within such a huge faction, you just don't matter as an individual, and PvP can become quite boring when you are clearly the superior force.
Actually, I can see many players changing factions for that reason.

Thanks for clearing that up. I had mixed thoughts on it because Ald'ruhn does have the 'headquarters' building there.

When u play single player its ok to create argonian, orc or khajit character. But when some one going to play character online for years he gone chose human looking race or best looking race in his opnion.
Not me, I'm going with khajiit just like I always do in TES games (but then again, that is the best looking race in my opinion, in Skyrim at least). And I'm sure I'll play that character for a long time; I make non-khajiit characters sometimes, but usually I end up not playing them for very long and focusing on my first character in each game.
