Tech Support Response?

Have none of you guys considered any other, more traditional methods of fixing your FPS issues?
(I mean, it's kind of like cheating at solitare, what you're doing...)
I chose the word 'evil' because it's about as far opposite from 'fix' as I could come up with.
But you're right and I will call it something else.
I have the 'full-strength' Fallout NewVegas running properly, and I think this should still be everyone's goal...

The d3d9.dll workaround does not lower or disable any graphics features. The the engine by default is not handling faces properly and it's sapping your GPU. This file will help to correct it.

Lowering your graphics just to free up more resources just so you can let the engine waste them is what's "evil", if anything.

The last time a game was crashing and acting crazy on me, I went through diagnostic craziness to discover that it was my power supply.

Why when this is doing the job? It's not my place to fix it. Short of helping myself to the fixes others are so kind to discover and post.

Cheating? How so? I do not see it as cheating.

It's a self help community fix. To quote an old proverb; "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth".
