Tel Mithryn Questions...

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 9:17 pm

So ol' Neloth told me I was a part of his house or whatever, also he is saying I have a bed and a chest all to myself now. At first I was excited but when I found the only usable bed in Tel Mithryn it was in the stewards house. The steward is sleeping in that bad unfortunately ... I tried to store some items in a chest inside the steward's quarters as well but a few days later they all came up as stolen. Is this really as good as it gets in Tel Mithryn?

I believe so.
I havent tested any chest yet, but Ive heard there is a safe one in the steward's house.
Not sure about that though.

What a shame, I should have never replaced his steward. I can't even kill the poor bastard for his bed.

You can still use the bed though.

Which chest in Neloth's tower is for us to use? There are 2 in there. Has anyone tested them to see if they are safe?

I recall Neloth saying my character got a bed for the time when I asked what did it mean to be a part of his house...I found no bed.

The room with the cobwebs is Neloth's room, just because he never uses it does not mean he is going to give it to our character, he is hardly that generous. The only bed we can use is in the stewards house.

That is what I have always thought, but I read a post from someone who said they tried that chest and lost the things they put in it, so I wasn't quite sure.

Neloth said you could use the bed and chest, he never said we never had to share them, so maybe the chest is not even safe. Sharing with a steward who refused to pay the money he owes hardly seems like a safe place to store anything.

Ever since Verena mistakenly stored stuff for too long at Fort Dawngaurd, it has made me wary of any storage besides her own homes which she has purchased or built.

Its something that could be tested.
I could do it if only I had not restarted due to getting the Wolf Queen V6 stuck in my inventory.
I hate you http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Fetch_me_that_Book!
I really do. You ruin my Skyrim and make me obsessive about absolutely not picking up any book I find in any chest, ever.

But yeah, a lapse in judgement made me take the Wolf Queen v6. on Solstheim at level 55 when I was perfectly happy with my character.
I had to restart. I mean, I didnt even have that volume in my collection yet, so it would be a constant argh.

This is the story of how I restarted:/
It has little to do with the issue at hand except that I could do it, but Im lvl 13 atm and on my way to castle Volkihar.
Someone else could test this.

It's kind of a rip off.
There is a bed in the servant's quarters for you. That's.. about it.

There was a post ( should have saved the link) where somebody asked I think it was beth support and they replied something along the lines of that Neloth is arrogant and diabolically insane so do not take anything he says at face value ( something along those lines).

Clearly a cop-out.

Did he not treat us like a servant though, even though we never had to make him a cup of tea. Apart from one very nicely worded bit of grovelling to get us to do something.

Edit, eventually found it.
Neloth - Have you seen Varona? I'm hungry
Aussie - No, I haven't seen Varona.
Neloth - Well find her, tell her I want apple cabbage stew with some canis root tea
Aussie - Hey, I'm not your servant
Neloth - Obviously not or you would have a cup of tea in your hand. I suppose you want to be asked nicely. Very well.
Neloth - Please oh hero of Skyrim. Please find Varona. I shall be ever so grateful.
