How do you perform this spell. I'm trying to retrieve a ring on a pedestal , behind a locked gate, The best I seem to be able to do is knock it off the pediestal. How do I get it into my inventory?

You have to hold the spell until it gets to you, you are then given the option of placing the item in your inventory by a key or button command. You'll need a lot of magica to bridge the gap or have items equipped that cut into the cost of the spell as it is very thirsty. Both would be an advantage.
